Karen Montiel Valverde

Karen is a Bilingual Research Interventionist for the FRESH-LC study at CHEAR. She was born in Mexico City and raised in the San Diego County region. Karen graduated with a B.A. in psychological science in 2020 at California State University San Marcos. Prior to being part of the CHEAR team, Karen worked as a research laboratory lead for a cultural perinatal mental health study working with families in the North County area. She enjoys providing resources and visibility to Hispanic/Latinx/e communities through academic research. In her free time, she will mostly likely be running by the beach or boxing at the gym!
