Ingrid is a postdoctoral scholar employee in CHEAR at the UCSD. Ingrid is a certified Dietitian in Mexico. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from University of Guadalajara in Mexico, her Msc. in Nutrition and Metabolism from University of Alberta in Canada and her Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology in Medicine from University of Guadalajara. Ingrid was awarded as a level 1 National Researcher from the Mexican National Council for Science and Technology. Prior coming to CHEAR her previous research focused on developing precision nutrition strategies and identifying relevant genetic markers that influence metabolic disturbances, weight gain and eating behavior in different ancestry Mexican communities. Ingrid is particularly interested in the influence of genetic and environmental factors with appetitive traits and regulation of cues. Currently at CHEAR she is involved in eating behavior studies for Latino families. In her free time, she loves traveling, swimming and exploring San Diego with her husband.
