Dr. Eichen is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UC San Diego and is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She has conducted eating and weight research since 2006. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Duke University and then her Ph.D. from the Clinical Psychology program at Temple University. Dr. Eichen was a T-32 fellow at Washington University School of Medicine’s Center for healthy Weight and Wellness in St. Louis prior to coming to CHEAR.
Dr. Eichen’s current research focuses on targeting executive function to improve eating behavior and weight. Her previous research focused on understanding the commonalities and parallel processes of eating, weight, and addictive disorders to try to inform novel treatments for eating and weight disorders. At CHEAR, Dr. Eichen also oversees the clinical assessments and start-up of study procedures across research studies. Dr. Eichen is an avid Duke Blue Devil fan and enjoys trying new restaurants around San Diego.
