The health and safety of our patients, research participants, and staff are of the utmost importance to us and is our highest priority. In an effort to reduce the community spread of COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of everyone, the CHEAR Team will be implementing several modifications to its processes that we would like to share with you.

Starting this week several activities at CHEAR have moved to virtual settings.  Please contact your respective study coordinator for more information OR contact chear@ucsd.edu and we will get you the necessary information.

The CHEAR Team will be aligning with the UC San Diego Health System, and will perform screenings for COVID-19 risk prior to visits at CHEAR. Visits will be rescheduled if participants meet travel criteria or have concerning symptoms.

Lastly, please be diligent in monitoring your own health. Please call your health care provider if you are feeling ill or start to show symptoms, especially those associated with COVID-19 (i.e. fever, cough, and shortness of breath).

Everyone at CHEAR is committed to helping families stay healthy (mentally and physically) during these challenging times.  We will be posting tips on our website and our social media for reducing stress, eating healthy, getting more physical activity and restful sleep while being at home.  These activities are important now more than ever to make sure our community stays healthy and to reduce physical vulnerability!

Let’s work together to help our San Diego families stay healthy and strong!
